Automate lead collection and scale support with Chatbots

Collect contact info in chatbots, store and use data from Tables, and automate the rest on Zapier.

Good news: Chatbots is now more integrated with Zapier’s automation platform. That means you can collect and automate lead information from a chatbot conversation, connect new knowledge sources, and incorporate Chatbots in your workflows across all our products.

Collect leads through chat

Choose the contact info to collect with Chatbots'

As your business grows, engaging with your leads and customers is critical. With Chatbots, Tables, and Zaps, you can now collect contact information and automate lead management, customer support, and other processes that need a personal touch.

Here’s how it works: 

  1. Go to the Actions tab in the Chatbot editor and select Collect info.

  2. Select the fields to capture within the conversation. Options include name, email, and company.

  3. Click Save Changes

  4. Zapier will automatically create a new table for you, including the info fields you chose to collect.

  5. Create Zaps with your new table to automate lead nurture, team updates, and more. 

Add this action to an existing chatbot and start automating lead collection.

Note: If you’re a Zapier user, you already have free access to Tables. Contact info collection is available with a paid Chatbots add-on.

Use Tables as a knowledge source

Select an existing table from Zapier Tables as a chatbot knowledge source.

Business moves fast, and information can quickly become outdated. But with our paid Chatbots add-on plans, you can use Tables as a knowledge source so your chatbot has the latest information handy. (And you don’t have to re-upload static files, either.) 

Here’s how it works: 

  1. In the Chatbot editor, go to Instructions and click +Add source

  2. Select Table for your knowledge source, then choose a table from the dropdown menu.

  3. Once the editor processes your table, your chatbot is ready to use.

  4. Click Sync to update your chatbot with any changes to the table

You can also upload static text files to help customize your chatbots with internal business knowledge for more on-brand responses and personalized service.

Tip: If you’re on an Advanced Chatbots plan, you can add multiple knowledge sources to each chatbot. Learn more about using knowledge sources.

We’ve also added some smaller touches to improve the chatbot-building experience from start to finish. When you create a new chatbot, the editor gives you a more structured directive to customize. That way, you can save time and get your bot to do what you want faster. 

New chatbots created will have a pre-filled directive to give you guidance.

Once your chatbot is ready for prime time, just share the direct link with users or add it to a page within Interfaces.
